18" Zabumba Pro

18" x 20 cm deep, wooden shell zabumba with plastic heads.

Used in the music style 'FORRO' from North-East Brazil, this double headed drum has syncopated rhythms played on the top head using a soft beater while the bottom head is played with a thin stick in the other hand filling in the spaces.

This instrument can also be used as a Cuban style Bombo drum as played in their carnival rhythms. Again a soft beater is used on top while the other hand helps to control the sound from underneath.
